Dear friends and
colleagues,
It
is with great pleasure that I address you to present the project of the
Society.
Our society is seeking to defend our
interests as well as hear out your opinions and your complaints.
It will
also present you with the latest scientific findings in the field and
encourage
research.
In February we have
promptly responded to
the International Society of Nephrology’s request and organized the
“World Kidney
Day”. The event took place on March 13, 2008 and consisted of a
series
of conferences, addressed to the public, on the importance of renal
diseases,
prevention and treatment possibilities. It called for careful
assistance of the
renal patients by providing them with the adequate treatment and vital
utility
of organ donation. This was an opportunity for us to have an important
media
covering. “World Kidney Day” is a yearly event set on the second
Thursday of March;
therefore we hope to have a better organization next year with the
participation of nephrologists from all regions and with others
activities.
Another preoccupation of
ours is the
establishment of a Kidney Registry. This is a
crucial requirement for
enhancing the standards of our treatments and meeting our future needs.
A
specialized committee has been formed for that matter and we hereby
solicit your
active collaboration.
We
shall maintain our yearly “Update In
Nephrology” congress as well as our periodic symposia in the
region. We
are also considering monthly conferences to exchange knowledge and
novelties
which will require your participation.

circumstances will improve, allowing us to realize our plans.
